Aloo Matar pulao is a simple and delicious rice dish without too many spices.
This aloo matar pulao cooks up really quickly in a pressure cooker.
You can serve it with raita or it goes very well with any other curry like chicken curry, chicken masala, fried chicken or paneer masala.
You can use any other vegetable of your choice like carrot, Beans or Cabbage.
4 tablespoons Oil
3-4 Cloves
2 Bay leaf
1 Cinnamon
3 Cardamom
½ tsp Cumin
2 Onion, sliced
½ tbsp Garlic chopped
½ tbsp Ginger chopped
2 Tomato, medium
Green chilli, slit
2 Potato, large
Salt to taste
¼ tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Chilli powder
2 tsp Coriander powder
½ tbsp Pav bhaji masala
½ cup Green Peas
2 cup Water
1 Cup rice
¼ tsp Fennel powder
Mint leaves
Coriander leaves (chopped)
Take a pressure cooker and heat 4 tablespoons of oil in it. Then,add cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, and cumin seeds.
Now add sliced onion and finely chopped ginger and garlic. Keep stirring until the onion turns light pink.
Now add chopped Tomato and salt, and mix well.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, pav bhaji masala and sliced green chilies.
If you don't have pav bhaji masala you can add any other flavourful masala like kitchen king masala, sabji masala, or sambhar masala.
Mix well and cook on high flame for a few Seconds.
Now add diced potatoes and green peas and give a quick stir.
Add water, washed rice, chopped Coriander leaves, mint leaves and fennel powder. Mix everything well and Cover the pressure cooker with the lid.
Wait for one whistle, lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes.
Now switch off the flame and let the cooker de-pressurized Naturally.
Open the lid and gently fluff the pulao using a fork or spatula before serving hot.
Serve hot with raita, chicken curry or fried chicken.
