Traditionally, Butter Chicken is made using leftover tandoori chicken, but in this recipe, we’re sharing a version made with fresh tandoori chicken.
1. Chicken - 500 grams (boneless, cut into small pieces)
2. Yogurt - 1/2 cup
3. Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
4. Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
6. Tandoori masala - 1 teaspoon
7. Salt - as per taste
8. Tomatoes - 4 medium-sized (chopped)
9. Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
10. Cashews - 10-12
11. Kasuri methi - 1 teaspoon (crushed with hands)
12. Cream - 1/2 cup1
3. Butter - 3-4 tablespoons (or desi ghee)
14. Sugar - 1 teaspoon
15. Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoo
16. Red food color (optional) - a pinch
