Watermelon Syrup for Year-Round Use – Make Once, Enjoy Again and Again

Ingredients
  

  • 2 kg watermelon peeled & chopped
  • cups sugar
  • 1 lemon juice
  • ½ tbsp black salt
  • ½ tbsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 4 –5 drops red food color optional
  • For Serving:
  • 2 –3 tbsp prepared syrup per glass
  • 1 cup cold water per glass
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 –2 tsp soaked basil seeds sabja
  • Mint leaves optional

Method
 

  1. Blend chopped watermelon without adding water.
  2. Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp.
  3. Add sugar, lemon juice, black salt, chaat masala, and cumin powder.
  4. Cook on low flame for 15–20 minutes. Remove foam.
  5. Add food color (optional) and cook until slightly syrupy.
  6. Cool completely and store in a clean glass bottle.

Notes

To Serve:
Mix 2–3 tablespoons syrup with cold water, ice cubes, soaked basil seeds, and garnish with mint.

Store in refrigerator.
Stays fresh for 2–3 months if stored properly.
