First, take a pan and heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, add 1 teaspoon garlic paste and lightly fry it until the raw smell of garlic disappears.
Now add 400 grams boneless chicken (cut into strips) and fry it on medium heat until the chicken changes its color from pink to white. The pink color indicates that there’s still blood in the chicken, but as you continue frying, the blood will disappear, and the chicken will start cooking perfectly.
Once the color of the chicken changes, add the tomato puree (I simply blended one large tomato to make the puree). Mix it well so that the chicken absorbs the tomato flavor nicely. The water from the tomato will help in cooking the chicken and making it tender.
Now it’s time to add the spices 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder1/2 teaspoon paprika powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder (or finely chopped onion if not available)
Mix everything well and cover the pan. Cook it on low-medium heat for about 5 minutes. During this time, the tomato water will evaporate, and the chicken will become completely tender.
After 5 minutes, remove the lid and you’ll see the chicken is perfectly cooked. Now add 3 tablespoons thick yogurt and mix everything again. Fry the chicken until the yogurt water dries up and the oil separates from the chicken.
Finally, add 1 teaspoon lemon juice, mix it for a few seconds, and your delicious chicken filling is ready! Set it aside.
Step 2: Making the Special Sauce
Now let’s prepare the special creamy sauce that will give your wraps a restaurant-style flavor.
In a bowl, combine 1 cup thick yogurt, 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons hot sauce, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (or finely chopped garlic, A pinch of salt, A pinch of black pepper powder, A little chopped fresh coriander.
Mix everything well until you get a smooth and creamy sauce. Trust me, this sauce will elevate the flavor of your wraps! Set it aside.
Step 3: Preparing the Vegetables
For fresh and crispy vegetables, take a bowl and add Finely chopped cucumber, Finely chopped onion, Finely chopped deseeded tomatoes, Juice of half a lemon, A pinch of salt, A pinch of black pepper powder.
Mix everything well so that the vegetables are perfectly seasoned. Keep them aside.
Step 4: Assembling the Wraps
Now comes the most fun part – assembling the chicken wraps!
Take a tortilla wrap and place it on a clean surface.
Spread a generous amount of the prepared sauce on the wrap.
Add a layer of lettuce leaves (chopped).
Now place the cooked chicken filling on top.
Add the prepared vegetables on the chicken.
If you want, you can also add some French fries to make it more filling.
Drizzle a little more sauce on top for extra flavor.
Now carefully roll the wrap and cover it using butter paper to keep it intact. That’s it! Your delicious, restaurant-style chicken wraps are ready!
